Open Source DJ Tools

I've been looking for some open source DJ tools for awhile. I haven't been looking that hard. It has just been something in the back of my head for awhile. I currently use Rane Serato Scratch Live. I've been on the forums at Rane's website and have come up empty-handed. I would love to run Rane Serato Scratch Live on a Linux platform. According to what I've read on the forums at their website... people want it and have tried to get it to work but it just hasn't been done yet. Between the hardware requirements and proprietary code Rane has it locked (Stanton appears to have released an open source version of their Final Scratch app.)

I hate being a DJ in this modern world because I have to be a slave to Windows/Apple platforms. I finally got around to doing a Google search for Linux DJ tools and came across: www.openjay.org. It doesn't look like this site is highly maintained. The current news/articles listed are from May 2007 (nearly six months ago). Maybe there haven't been any developments since then. I was impressed with the various tools that are available for the Linux platform. Now whether they work good or not is a different story. I've been messing around with the Mixxx DJ application. While it is fairly limited when compared to Rane's Scratch Live application.. it is still promising. Another application, XWAX, looks really good. It appears to follow the footsteps of Rane's application. I'll have to try it out soon. My current DJ tools that I cannot live without: iTunes (used for cataloging and indexing my 270Gb music library) and Rane Serato Scratch Live. I can easily replace iTunes with Amarok or Rhythmbox... now I just need a decent Scratch Live replacement.
