I’ve been looking for a journal application for a computer and I think that I have stumbled upon a good one: http://sourceforge.net/projects/powerjournal/
It’s an older piece of software but it is cross platform, free, and light-weigh (hopefully not abandoned or orphaned). It has the exact functions that I would be looking for in a computer-based journal.
Sure there are blogs, but maybe you don’t want to share everything with the public and what about when you don’t have Internet connectivity? Yes, there is Microsoft Word, but it is inefficient for keeping a day-to-day journal.
I was able to get this application to work on WindowsXP and was looking forward to getting to work on Ubuntu. Downloaded the bin file. Changed the permissions and attempted to install. Received errors telling me that there are missing directories and shared libraries. I'll try compiling from source and see if that works.
